In response, the Telugu Desam Party leadership, including N. Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh, acted promptly. In an official party communication, Gayatri was suspended indefinitely. Additionally, the party has launched an internal investigation into her comments and online behavior.
This move reflects TDP’s attempt to maintain decorum and discipline among its spokespersons while protecting its image, especially with the 2024 general elections in focus. The leadership has made it clear that they won’t tolerate statements that may alienate key voter bases or hurt religious sentiments.
