Revanth Reddy Proposes Cooperation to AP CM Chandrababu Naidu

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy made key remarks regarding inter-state water disputes and proposed cooperation with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to resolve long-pending issues between the two Telugu states.

Speaking in the Telangana Assembly, CM Revanth Reddy addressed the ongoing debate surrounding the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project. He clarified that the Telangana government had not denied facts related to the project and rejected claims that the issue was being politicised for electoral gains. Revanth Reddy stressed that water-related disputes should not be used for political advantage and called for a problem-solving approach rather than controversy.

The Chief Minister said Congress-led Telangana is committed to permanently resolving inter-state disputes and does not believe in prolonging conflicts for political mileage. He urged both states to move beyond politics and work together to find lasting solutions instead of approaching courts repeatedly. “Discussions should be aimed at resolution, not controversy,” he asserted.

Revanth Reddy appealed to the Andhra Pradesh government not to create hurdles for projects that had received permissions during the united Andhra Pradesh era. He specifically mentioned projects on the Krishna river, including Palamuru-Rangareddy, Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation (KLI), Dindi, SLBC, and Nettempadu, requesting AP’s cooperation in securing approvals. He assured that Telangana would reciprocate the same spirit of cooperation. “If you cooperate with us, we will also cooperate,” he said.

Touching upon Hyderabad’s future, Revanth Reddy highlighted the state government’s plans to attract global investments. He said Telangana aims to compete with major international cities by building a strong and transparent financial ecosystem. He emphasised that the state offers a favourable climate for investors and assured that policies are being designed to instil confidence among global companies.

The Chief Minister also announced that Telangana will introduce a new education policy to strengthen human capital. He noted that many top CEOs leading global companies are from India and stressed the importance of nurturing talent beyond traditional administrative roles.

Reiterating his message to neighbouring states, Revanth Reddy said cooperation between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is essential for regional growth. He concluded by assuring that his government remains open to collaboration and dialogue to ensure mutual development and resolve shared challenges.
