New Blue Pattadar Passbooks Distribution Begins in Andhra Pradesh
AP Government Launches QR-Enabled Passbooks for Farmers
AP Pattadar Passbooks distribution has officially begun across Andhra Pradesh, marking a major step by the alliance government to provide farmers with updated land ownership documents. The new AP Pattadar Passbooks come with a blue cover, Rajamudra seal, QR code, and biometric verification to ensure accuracy and transparency.
Officials are conducting the distribution through Urura Gram Sabhas. Importantly, the new passbooks carry a Rajamudra (royal seal) and a QR code, which improves transparency and prevents misuse. Meanwhile, authorities confirmed that the distribution will continue until January 9.
Why the Government Introduced New Pattadar Passbooks
Earlier, during the YSRCP rule, the resurvey process triggered widespread complaints from farmers. Many pattadars faced incorrect Webland entries, wrong land measurements, and ownership errors. As a result, farmers strongly opposed the old passbooks.
However, after coming to power, the alliance government promised to correct these issues. Therefore, the Revenue Department prepared 21.86 lakh new Pattadar Passbooks with verified land data.
Biometric Verification and QR Code System
To ensure accuracy, the government completed a detailed KYC process before issuing the new passbooks. Officials collected old passbook details and cross-verified Webland records. Additionally, they introduced biometric verification during distribution to avoid duplication.
Farmers receive the passbooks only after signing the official register. At the same time, authorities collect old land ownership documents to complete the process.
Instant Correction of Errors During Distribution
Unlike in the past, the government now allows on-the-spot correction of mistakes. Tahsildars can immediately verify Aadhaar details, land extent, and ownership records. Moreover, officials can correct entries related to deceased owners or incorrect land areas without delay.
As a result, the government expects error-free land records across villages.
Relief and Confidence for Farmers
Overall, the new Pattadar Passbooks bring major relief to farmers. They restore trust in land records and reduce future disputes. Therefore, farmers view this initiative as a significant step toward transparency and welfare in Andhra Pradesh.
