Venu’s Bold Leap with Yellamma
After surprising everyone with his emotionally resonant debut Balagam, director Venu Yeldandi is now stepping into his second directorial venture titled Yellamma. This time, however, the stakes are significantly higher. Backed by star producer Dil Raju, Yellamma promises to be more ambitious in both story and scale.
From Nani to Nithiin: The Lead Hero Switch
Initially, the film was narrated to Natural Star Nani, who appreciated the powerful story. However, after acting in emotionally intense films like HIT 3 and Paradise, Nani reportedly felt that another drama-heavy project might alienate his core family audience. As a result, he stepped away from the project.
That’s when Venu pitched the story to Nithiin, who instantly connected with it and agreed to take up the lead role. This collaboration marks a crucial opportunity for both the director and the actor.
Yellamma: A Story Rooted in Culture and Emotion
The narrative of Yellamma revolves around a group of folk singers from a marginalized community. The film will explore their aspirations, struggles, and societal rejection with deep emotion and authenticity. Casting Updates: Who Will Be the Female Lead?
While Sai Pallavi was the initial choice for the female lead, recent reports suggest that Keerthy Suresh also received a detailed narration. The production team is expected to announce the finalized actress soon, adding further buzz to the project.
