Asha instructed the Censor Board to issue the certificate without delay. However, the CBFC challenged this order by filing a writ appeal before the first Division Bench, headed by Chief Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava along with Justice G. Arul Murugan.

According to the latest developments, the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court has put a temporary stay on the single judge’s directive that asked the CBFC to grant a U/A certificate to Vijay’s film. The case is now slated for its next hearing on January 21, following the Pongal holidays.
