During the reign of the YSR Congress Party (YCP), accusations of power abuse and personal attacks on opposition leaders, including Pawan Kalyan, Chandrababu Naidu, and Nara Lokesh, were rampant. Among those who went overboard was Kakinada MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy, who often made derogatory remarks targeting Pawan.
Pawan Kalyan, known for his resolve, took a firm stance during his election campaigns, vowing to expose Dwarampudi’s alleged criminal activities. “If I don’t expose your criminal regime and bring you to the streets, my name not Pawan Kalyan,” declared the Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief, challenging Dwarampudi’s authority.
The Present: JSP’s Triumph and Action Against Dwarampudi
Fast forward to 2024, the political landscape has shifted dramatically. Pawan Kalyan led the Jana Sena Party to a historic victory, securing all 21 constituencies contested. Meanwhile, YCP’s dominance crumbled, dropping from 151 seats to just 11. Notably, Dwarampudi suffered a humiliating defeat in Kakinada.
With the formation of the NDA government, Pawan Kalyan wasted no time in addressing the issues he once promised to tackle. By appointing Nadendla Manohar as the Civil Supplies Minister, he initiated a crackdown on alleged illegal activities tied to Dwarampudi.
Crackdown on Rice Mills and Port Operations
Rice mills owned by Dwarampudi in Kakinada and the Godavari districts were raided by authorities due to reported violations of quality standards. Over 1,000 cases have filed against these mills so far. Adding to the pressure, Pawan Kalyan personally inspected Kakinada Port, exposing alleged rice smuggling activities tied to the Public Distribution System (PDS).
The intensified scrutiny didn’t stop there. Dwarampudi’s shrimp processing factory in Kakinada was shut down for failing to meet environmental safety standards, signaling a further clampdown on his operations.
Pawan Kalyan’s Unwavering Resolve
Pawan Kalyan’s actions are a testament to his determination to fulfill his promises and combat what he perceives as corruption. Dwarampudi’s reliance on YCP’s power shield no longer holds, and the consequences of past actions are now catching up with him.
The next five years promise to be challenging for Dwarampudi as Pawan Kalyan and the NDA government intensify their focus on dismantling what they claim is an illicit empire.
