Usha Vance Visits India But Skips Ancestral Andhra Village
🇺🇸 JD and Usha Vance Make First Official Trip to India
Just four months into his role, U.S. Vice President JD Vance has begun making global moves. In a significant diplomatic gesture, he has arrived in India with his wife Usha Vance and their three children. This visit marks their first official trip to India since the new administration took office.
Vice President Vance is in the country to engage in high-level discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, particularly on issues like trade and tariff tensions that have recently surfaced.
🌏 Usha Vance’s Roots in Andhra Pradesh
There was special excitement surrounding this visit, especially among the people of Vadluru village, located in the erstwhile West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. That’s because Usha Vance’s family originally hails from this village.
Though Usha was born and raised in the United States, her parents migrated from Vadluru many years ago. Her Indian heritage has always been a point of pride for the local community, who hoped to welcome her back to her ancestral home during this trip.
❌ No Andhra Stop on This Trip
Unfortunately, despite the emotional connection, Usha Vance will not be visiting Vadluru this time. Due to the strictly official nature of the visit, the itinerary does not include any personal stops.
After meeting with PM Modi, the Vance family is expected to tour historical landmarks in Jaipur and Agra, before returning to the United States on April 24.
🙏 Emotional Disappointment for Villagers
The news comes as a disappointment to the people of Vadluru, who had even performed special poojas and prayers for JD Vance’s election victory. Their celebrations turned to hope, believing Usha might finally set foot in the village her family once called home.
However, local leaders remain optimistic. Many believe this won’t be Usha’s last trip to India and that she might make time for a personal visit to Vadluru in the future.
Until then, the village continues to take pride in Usha Vance’s global stature, and her Indian roots remain a source of inspiration for many.
