The Telugu Desham Party (TDP) has always placed its party workers at the heart of its journey. Unlike many political outfits that lean on their workers only during elections, the TDP treats its cadre as its core strength—every day, all year.
This commitment was recently highlighted again with a heartfelt gesture ahead of the party’s grand annual event, Mahanadu, set to take place in Kadapa, the stronghold of the YSR Congress Party.
🕊️ Honouring a Fallen Hero – Thota Chandrayya
One of the first major announcements for the Mahanadu 2025 event is already gaining attention. The first official invitation for the event will go to the family of Thota Chandrayya, a devoted TDP worker from Gundlapadu village in Palnadu district.
Chandrayya was brutally murdered in broad daylight in January 2022, reportedly by YSRCP members. In his final moments, he was heard shouting slogans in support of TDP and its leader, “Jai Telugudesam! Jai Chandrababu!”
đź‘Ł Nara Lokesh to Deliver the First Invitation
As a mark of respect, the TDP has decided not to send this invitation through local leaders. Instead, Minister Nara Lokesh will personally visit Chandrayya’s family and hand over the invitation. Lokesh, who oversees party affairs related to cadre welfare, said this is a duty he will proudly fulfil.
This decision is a clear message: TDP never forgets the sacrifices of its loyal members.
⚔️ Palnadu’s Fight for Justice
Palnadu has long been a hotspot of faction politics, where TDP has often had to fight hard against the YSRCP. Yet, despite the odds, loyal workers like Chandrayya have helped the party rise again, especially in places like Macharla where TDP recently reclaimed ground.
In a significant move, the current TDP-led government has now handed over Chandrayya’s murder case to the CID for a fresh and proper investigation. This comes as a step towards ensuring justice served.
