Former BJP AP State President Somu Veerraju has been a vocal critic of Chandrababu Naidu, leading to speculation about his political alliances. Somu Veerraju Clears the Air
Speaking on the allegations, Somu clarified that he only got to know Jagan after he became the Chief Minister. He stated that it incorrect to label him as a critic of Chandrababu Naidu, emphasizing that his disagreements issue-based rather than personal.
Additionally, Veerraju dismissed claims that he opposed Amaravati as the capital, stressing that he never worked against the region’s development.
Denies Ministerial Speculations
There have been rumors that Veerraju might be inducted into Chandrababu Naidu’s cabinet as a BJP representative. However, Somu dismissed these reports, stating that they were merely speculation.
He further revealed that Chandrababu Naidu had offered him a ministerial position earlier during his tenure from 2014 to 2019, but he chose not to accept it.
Somu Veerraju’s Political Stand
Concluding his statement, Veerraju compared his equation with Chandrababu Naidu to the relationship between Chandrababu and PM Narendra Modi, indicating that there is mutual respect.
With the MLC elections approaching, BJP has nominated Veerraju, Janasena has fielded Nagababu, and TDP has chosen Beeda Ravichandra, BT Naidu, and Kavali Greeshma as its candidates.
