RS Praveen Kumar Accuses Congress of Betraying Farmers

BRS Leader RS Praveen Kumar Accuses Congress of Betraying Farmers and Failing to Protect Students in Welfare Schools

Hyderabad: BRS leader RS Praveen Kumar has launched a strong criticism of the Congress government, accusing them of betraying farmers and failing to ensure the safety and well-being of students in welfare schools. His remarks highlight ongoing issues that are affecting both the agricultural sector and the education system.

Betrayal of Farmers: Under-Weighing and Financial Losses

Praveen Kumar strongly condemned the Congress government for allegedly exploiting farmers at the Integrated Purchase Centers (IKP). According to him, officials are under-weighing paddy by 4 kg per quintal, resulting in financial losses for farmers. He stated, “Farmers are losing Rs 3,500 for every 30 quintals per acre due to under-weighing. Additionally, they are being charged Rs 46 per quintal as labor charges.”

These practices, according to Praveen Kumar, lead to a total loss of Rs 4,880 per acre for farmers when selling their crops to the State government. He also reminded that farmers were not receiving the promised Rs 5,000 per acre investment assistance under Rythu Bharosa during the Congress regime. The BRS leader emphasized that under Congress rule, farmers are losing approximately Rs 10,000 per acre, accusing the government of deceiving and exploiting the farming community.

Concerns Over Suicides in Gurukul Welfare Schools

In addition to criticizing the Congress government for its treatment of farmers, Praveen Kumar also expressed deep concern over the recurring suicides among students in Gurukul residential welfare schools. He highlighted a recent tragic incident where a student ended their life in one of these government-run institutions. Praveen Kumar stressed the urgent need for counselors in schools to address students’ mental health issues.

“I have been urging Chief Minister Revanth Reddy since last year to implement a counselor system in welfare schools, but his inaction is costing lives,” said the BRS leader. He went on to state that 55 students have lost their lives in the past year due to suicides in these welfare schools. Praveen Kumar questioned how many more lives would need to be sacrificed before the government takes action.

RS Praveen Kumar: A Call for Change and Action

Praveen Kumar’s statements paint a grim picture of the situation under the Congress regime. He called for immediate reforms to protect farmers and students, stressing that both sectors are facing grave issues that demand urgent attention. His criticism of the Congress government underscores the growing concerns among the public about the lack of accountability and action on crucial matters.
