After facing a significant defeat in the Nagiri constituency, YSRCP leader and former MLA Roja has been inconsistent in her political involvement. Sometimes she stays quiet, but lately, she has become more vocal, especially with her latest attack on TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu. This time, she chose to criticize Chandrababu for participating in the popular talk show ‘Unstoppable’ hosted by actor Nandamuri Balakrishna.
Roja cited the recent murder of a young girl from Badvel to accuse Chandrababu of being indifferent to the state’s issues. “There are rapes and murders happening everywhere, and Chandrababu is happily shooting for shows in Hyderabad,” Roja said, attempting to tarnish Naidu’s public image.
TDP Responds with a Clever Counterattack
However, TDP supporters quickly hit back at Roja. They unearthed an old video from her time in power with the YSRCP, where she made a rather controversial comment regarding crime.
Social media was quick to point out the irony in her statement. TDP-affiliated accounts used this to troll Roja, highlighting the contradiction in her words. They mocked her for suddenly being outraged at crime while she previously dismissed similar incidents during her own party’s tenure.
“Roja’s statement contradicts her current stance. Even during Jagan’s rule, unfortunate incidents occurred, and she brushed them aside. She should learn from her own remarks,” said one of the prominent TDP supporters on Twitter.
Chandrababu’s Response to the Badvel Incident
While YSRCP is attempting to politicize the Badvel incident, Chandrababu Naidu hasn’t been passive. In fact, he expressed his outrage over the crime and even called for swift justice, urging for a fast-tracked trial and a potential death penalty for the perpetrator. Despite his efforts to address the issue, YSRCP leaders like Roja seem more focused on attacking his participation in TV shows, rather than acknowledging his stance on the crime.
