Revanth Reddy Rules Out By-Elections, KTR Hits Back
Political Tensions Escalate in Telangana Assembly
The Telangana political scene is witnessing heated debates amid the ongoing Assembly session. Several key issues, including party defections and possible by-elections, have become central topics of discussion.
With 10 BRS MLAs switching to Congress, the party has even approached the Supreme Court seeking legal intervention. However, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s response in the Assembly has sparked a fresh controversy.
Revanth Reddy’s Statement on By-Elections
During the Assembly session, CM Revanth Reddy made a firm statement regarding the defection issue, dismissing the possibility of by-elections in Telangana.
“No matter what happens, there will be no by-elections in Telangana. This is my assurance to MLAs from different parties. You need not worry at all because there will be no by-election in the state. Even if BRS MLAs resign, there will be no immediate election now.”
His casual tone and firm stance on the issue seem to have angered the opposition, especially the BRS leadership.
KTR’s Fiery Response to Revanth Reddy
BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) wasted no time in hitting back at Revanth Reddy, accusing him of acting beyond his authority.
Taking to Twitter, KTR launched a scathing attack:
“Our CM often forgets that he is the CM. He likes to role-play most of the time. Today, he decided that he is the Supreme Court! He passed a judgment about an ongoing case of MLA defections right on the Assembly floor.”
KTR’s Key Accusations:
- Undermining the Supreme Court’s authority by commenting on a case still under judicial review.
- Violating parliamentary conventions by discussing a sub-judice matter in the Assembly.
- Failing to act like a responsible CM, despite already apologizing for a similar gaffe last year.
KTR also warned that BRS would take legal action over Revanth Reddy’s remarks.
“BRS will definitely take this up with the Hon’ble courts. Meanwhile, I request Revanth Reddy to behave like the CM. Or at least pretend to care!”
BRS Under Pressure as Revanth Reddy Holds His Ground in By-Elections
At a time when BRS is struggling to retain its members, Revanth Reddy’s calm and composed statement appears to have further unsettled the party.
- BRS is already facing an uphill battle, with defections weakening its strength.
- Revanth Reddy’s stance neutralized the narrative of immediate by-elections, putting BRS in a tough spot.
- KTR’s sharp reaction indicates frustration within BRS as it struggles to contain political damage.
What’s Next in Telangana Politics?
With the battle between Congress and BRS intensifying, the focus now shifts to:
- How the Supreme Court will respond to BRS’s plea on MLA defections.
- Whether legal action will be taken against Revanth Reddy’s Assembly remarks.
- The political impact of ongoing defections on Telangana’s future elections.
As political drama unfolds, Telangana is set for a high-stakes showdown between the ruling Congress and the embattled BRS.
