From the moment Revanth Reddy took charge as Telangana’s Chief Minister, he made it clear that his government would take strict action against illegal activities, especially drug trade and peddling. His intensified surveillance and enforcement measures have already resulted in a significant decline in drug busts across the state. Now, the CM has shifted his focus to another widespread illegal activity—online betting apps and gambling apps. Revanth Reddy’s Tough Stand on Betting Apps

Addressing the Telangana Assembly, Revanth Reddy made a strong statement against online betting platforms. He vowed to take strict action against these gambling networks and those who promote them.

Formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT)

To tackle the issue effectively, Revanth Reddy announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe illegal betting platforms. He mentioned that the SIT could be led by CBCID officials or other reputed government authorities.

CM’s Stern Warning to Betting Platforms

“These betting sites and applications are not to be taken lightly. We are going to crack down on these platforms and those behind them. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be formed, and strict legal action is guaranteed. Our goal is to eradicate online betting from Telangana,” Revanth Reddy stated.

Celebrities & Betting Operators Under Scrutiny

Authorities have already booked 19 betting site operators and initiated legal action against them. Even several celebrities have come under the radar for endorsing these illegal gambling platforms.

With the Chief Minister’s unwavering stance and intensified enforcement measures, it seems that Telangana’s online betting culture is on borrowed time.
