Revanth Reddy and KTR’s Jail Stories Spark Heated Debate
Telangana Assembly Sees Heated Exchanges
The Telangana Assembly sessions continue to be a mix of political drama and intense debates. Today, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) engaged in a heated discussion, bringing their past jail experiences into the spotlight.
The session turned dramatic and emotional as both leaders recounted their time in prison, each accusing the other of practicing revenge politics. Telangana Assembly witnesses a fiery exchange between CM Revanth Reddy and BRS leader KTR as they recall their jail experiences.
Revanth Reddy on His 2015 Imprisonment in Jail
Revanth Reddy lashed out at former CM KCR and the BRS government, accusing them of vendetta politics. He recalled his 2015 arrest, claiming that the government went to great lengths to keep him behind bars during a crucial time for his family.
“When I was jailed, my daughter was getting married. They didn’t want me to attend even her engagement. When I applied for anticipatory bail, the KCR government hired top lawyers from Delhi to get it canceled. Fortunately, the court granted me interim bail, allowing me to spend just two hours with my family. I spent 16 sleepless nights in that jail. Now tell me, who is practicing revenge politics?”
Revanth’s emotional statement resonated with many, painting a picture of political persecution under the previous regime.
KTR’s No-Nonsense Response
KTR didn’t hold back in his response to Revanth Reddy. In a sharp rebuttal, he dismissed Revanth’s claims, emphasizing that his imprisonment was not due to any freedom struggle or political movement but rather a corruption scandal.
“Did you go to jail for some freedom movement or public cause? No! You went to jail because you were caught with bags of money. And now, after becoming CM, you sent drones to my house to take pictures of my family members. Would you remain silent if someone did the same to you?”
KTR also pointed out that he himself had been jailed during the Telangana agitation, asserting that Revanth not the only one to have faced jail time.
“I went to Warangal prison during the Telangana movement. You’re not the only one who has seen a jail cell.”
His response shifted the focus from personal grievances to political credibility, making it clear that he saw no reason for sympathy in Revanth’s case.
Jail Stories: A Dramatic Turn in Telangana Politics
The exchange between Revanth Reddy and KTR added another layer of drama to the ongoing assembly proceedings. Their jail stories became a point of contention, highlighting the deep-rooted rivalry between the Congress and BRS in Telangana.
With political tensions rising, it remains to seen how this verbal battle will shape the future narrative in Telangana politics.
