Andhra Pradesh Bags Higher Railway Grants Than Telangana

The alliance government in Andhra Pradesh has successfully fostered a strong relationship with the central government, leading to substantial funding for the state. With Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan at the forefront, AP has secured significant financial support from the Centre, which is evident in the 2026 budget allocations and the latest railway grants announced today.

AP Secures ₹9417 Crore, Telangana Gets ₹5337 Crore for Railway Grants

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled the latest railway budget, and Andhra Pradesh has been granted ₹9417 crore, which is nearly double the allocation for Telangana, which received ₹5337 crore.

Additionally, Andhra Pradesh set to receive multiple One-Day Bharat Trains and Namo Bharat Trains, further strengthening its railway infrastructure.

AP Given Priority in Railway Development

The Centre has made it clear that Andhra Pradesh will given top priority in railway projects, including the development of new railway technologies. This signals a strong focus on infrastructure growth, ensuring better connectivity and economic benefits for the state.

Meanwhile, Telangana has also allocated significant railway resources, particularly in the form of Vande Bharat Trains. Currently, five Vande Bharat trains are operational in Telangana, with more expected in 2026.

Alliance Government’s Strong Ties with Centre Yield Results

Maintaining a favorable relationship with the central government is proving beneficial for Andhra Pradesh. The Chandrababu-Pawan alliance appears to be leveraging its influence to bring in vital financial support, especially for a financially struggling state like AP.

With increased funding and priority in railway development, Andhra Pradesh is on track for enhanced infrastructure growth and improved connectivity, further boosting its economic prospects.
