Pawan Kalyan’s Journey: A Case Study

A similar case can be seen in Andhra Pradesh, where actor Pawan Kalyan took nearly a decade to gain power. In 2019, his Janasena Party contested alone and suffered a heavy defeat. Recognizing the political reality, Pawan later formed an alliance with the TDP and BJP. This move helped him secure the Deputy Chief Minister post in the ruling coalition.

Vijay’s Political Strategy and Prashant Kishor’s Advice

Vijay recently launched his political party, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), to contest the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. To strengthen his campaign, he brought in political strategist Prashant Kishor.

With DMK in power and AIADMK holding over 25% of the vote share, Prashant Kishor has reportedly advised Vijay that winning a majority outright is highly unlikely. Even if TVK garners 20% of the votes, it may still struggle to become the main opposition party, let alone win the election.

To improve his chances, Prashant Kishor is believed to have suggested an alliance with AIADMK. If AIADMK and TVK combine forces, along with support from minor parties, they could potentially dethrone DMK.

✔ Vijay could take the Deputy CM post

However, Vijay is reportedly hesitant about this proposal. His ambition was to win independently, and aligning with AIADMK might not align with his long-term vision.
