Pawan Kalyan’s Warning: “Don’t Push Me to Take Over as Minister”

Pawan Kalyan’s Concerns About Rising Crime in AP of Home Minister

During a recent visit to Pithapuram, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Janasena leader Pawan Kalyan voiced strong criticism of the police department’s response to rising crimes, particularly those involving women and girls. He shared his concerns after inaugurating a science lab at the Zilla Parishad High School in Gollaprolu, where he also addressed the gathered public. In his speech, Pawan pointed out that the police’s continued leniency toward criminals has left citizens feeling vulnerable.

Holding the Police Accountable for Crime Negligence

Pawan urged the police to end their “lazy approach” toward violent crime, stating that a lack of intent has allowed criminal activities to flourish. He pointed to data suggesting that over 30,000 girls went missing during the previous administration, which he attributes to a “lawless” environment fostered by weak enforcement. He questioned why police hesitate to act even when crimes target public officials, including the Chief Minister.

“If This Continues, I’ll Take Charge as Home Minister”

Expressing his frustration with the current approach, Pawan stated, “If the situation continues, I may need to step in as Home Minister.” This bold statement reflects his willingness to take on additional responsibilities to ensure public safety. He also urged Home Minister Anitha to prioritize law enforcement, highlighting the need for justice that is free from caste and community bias.

Zero Tolerance for Criminal Bias

Citing a recent case involving a young girl, Pawan questioned why the police were reluctant to act because of the accused’s background. “Why hesitate to arrest someone who committed such a crime simply due to their caste?” he asked, emphasizing that criminals deserve punishment based on their actions alone. He stressed that enforcing the law without bias is critical to restoring public trust.

Inspiration from Uttar Pradesh

Pawan pointed to Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as an example of firm governance, praising his zero-tolerance policy toward crime. He suggested that similar strong action might be necessary in Andhra Pradesh if conditions do not improve, calling for strict accountability and fair enforcement.
