Pawan Kalyan Skips Delhi Campaign: A Smart Move

Pawan Kalyan Skips Delhi Campaign: A Smart Move Amid Chandrababu’s Controversy

The Delhi Assembly Elections on February 5 have become a focal point of political attention across India. As part of a last-ditch effort, the BJP incorporated AP CM Chandrababu Naidu into their Delhi campaign, with the TDP leader participating in the event yesterday.

However, Pawan Kalyan, who was initially rumored to be accompanying Chandrababu and campaigning for BJP candidates in Delhi, smartly skipped the event. While reports initially suggested that Pawan Kalyan would join Chandrababu Naidu in the campaign, the Janasena Party leader opted out.

Chandrababu’s Controversial Campaign in Delhi

Chandrababu’s decision to campaign in Delhi, targeting Arvind Kejriwal and his AAP government, has raised some eyebrows. He criticized Kejriwal, claiming that the Delhi CM built a lavish Sesha Mahal using public funds, similar to Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Rushikonda Palace in Andhra Pradesh. Chandrababu called on the people of Delhi to vote against Kejriwal’s government, much like how people of Andhra Pradesh rejected Jagan’s government for misusing public money.

This comment raised concerns among some neutral voters in Andhra Pradesh, who already dissatisfied with the decision to campaign against Kejriwal, especially considering the past positive interactions between Kejriwal and Chandrababu.

The Past Relationship Between Kejriwal and Chandrababu

Interestingly, Arvind Kejriwal was once a strong supporter of Chandrababu Naidu, even lending his support during the Delhi protests against Modi before the 2019 elections. In fact, Kejriwal even campaigned in Sikh-dominated areas of Vijayawada during the 2019 elections, showing respect for the TDP leader.

Given this background, some TDP loyalists feel that Chandrababu Naidu should have reconsidered his decision to campaign in Delhi against Kejriwal.

Pawan Kalyan’s Smart Move: Skipping the Campaign

While Chandrababu Naidu opted to participate in the campaign and criticize Kejriwal’s government, Pawan Kalyan avoided this controversial move. Political commentators agree that Pawan Kalyan made a wise decision by staying out of the campaign, thereby avoiding any unnecessary confrontation with Arvind Kejriwal. By doing so, he steered clear of unnecessary political conflicts and maintained a neutral stance, which many believe was the right decision.
