Nitin Gadkari Says Live-In and Same-Sex Marriages
Nitin Gadkari Talks About Live-In and Same-Sex Marriages
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari recently shared his views on live-in relationships and same-sex marriages in India. In a candid YouTube interview, Gadkari spoke about the rise of such relationships and their contradiction with traditional Indian cultural values. He expressed that these modern relationship norms are not in alignment with India’s societal structure.
Gadkari emphasized that live-in relationships and same-sex marriages are foreign concepts and do not fit into India’s cultural fabric. According to him, they challenge long-standing societal norms and traditions. He reflected on his experience at the British Parliament, where he learned about the increasing number of live-in relationships, which he believes has become one of the significant challenges faced by Western countries.
The Union Minister’s View on Societal Impact
The Union Minister raised concerns about the future implications of these changes. He questioned the social structure, asking, “If you don’t marry, how will you have children? What will be their future?” He warned that deviating from the traditional family structure could have profound effects on society.
Gadkari further explained his views, suggesting that if the gender imbalance continues, with fewer men than women, there could be a possibility of allowing men to have more than one wife. This, he believes, would help maintain the balance within society.
Same-Sex Marriage: A Threat to Social Order
Nitin Gadkari also spoke out about same-sex marriages, stating that they would lead to the collapse of the social structure. According to him, marriage between a man and a woman is an integral part of the Indian social system, and any deviation from this could have detrimental effects on the broader societal framework.
However, Gadkari did take a firm stand against marital rape, calling it unequivocally wrong. He stressed the importance of mutual respect and boundaries within relationships. The minister emphasized that both husband and wife have the right to consensual involvement in their relationship, underlining the importance of respect in marriages.
