Nara Lokesh Challenges YCP: Offers 10 Crore to Prove Data Theft

Nara Lokesh Challenges YCP: ₹10 Crore Reward to Prove Data Theft in WhatsApp Governance

The Andhra Pradesh government has rolled out a revolutionary WhatsApp governance model, making over 161 civil services accessible to citizens at their fingertips. This initiative aims to simplify government interactions and improve public service efficiency through digital transformation like data theft.

However, YSR Congress Party (YCP) leaders and supporters have raised concerns, alleging that this WhatsApp model could lead to data theft and unauthorized access to citizens’ private information. Their claims have sparked widespread debates, with many questioning the credibility of such allegations.

Lokesh’s Bold Response to YCP’s Allegations on Data Theft

When asked about YCP’s claims, IT Minister Nara Lokesh did not hold back. He issued a direct challenge to YCP leaders, offering a ₹10 crore reward from his personal account to anyone who can prove that data theft is happening through this governance model.

“If any YCP leader can prove that our WhatsApp governance model is stealing data, I will personally give them ₹10 crore. Let them come forward with evidence instead of spreading baseless allegations,” Lokesh asserted.

Instead of simply dismissing YCP’s accusations as political propaganda, Lokesh took a firm stand. He understands that misinformation can negatively impact public perception, discouraging people from using a system designed to benefit them. His challenge aims to instill confidence among the people of Andhra Pradesh, reassuring them that the government is committed to data security and privacy.

Exposing YCP’s Contradiction

Interestingly, YCP leaders had previously claimed that Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government introduced WhatsApp governance. This raises an important question—if they now believe that WhatsApp governance leads to data theft, does that mean they were attempting to steal public data when they introduced a similar model?

A TDP supporter took to social media, questioning YCP’s double standards:

“If Jagan’s government pioneered WhatsApp governance, does that mean they were trying to steal data back then? YCP needs to clarify its stance instead of making contradictory claims.”

Public Confidence in WhatsApp Governance

The state government is sending a clear message that the WhatsApp governance model is secure and transparent. This initiative ensures that citizens can access government services without concerns about data privacy. The administration remains confident in the system’s robust security measures. Emphasizing that it designed to improve efficiency without compromising user data.

The ball is now in YCP’s court—will they accept Lokesh’s challenge and provide proof of data theft, or will they back down? This bold move by Lokesh expected to further strengthen public trust in the TDP-led government’s digital governance efforts.
