Naidu Secures ₹2,500 Crore for AP through Keen Observation
Naidu Detail-Oriented Leadership Recovers ₹2,500 Crore from Telangana
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu demonstrated his administrative skills by securing ₹2,500 crore for Andhra Pradesh. His ability to focus on key details played a vital role in recovering these long-overdue funds. Background of the ₹2,500 Crore Dues
Before the bifurcation, Andhra Pradesh had taken foreign loans for projects like the Inner Ring Road. However, Telangana did not pay its 42% share, leaving Andhra Pradesh to cover the entire repayment.
Neglect by Previous Administrations
Former Chief Ministers K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy failed to address this issue. Despite Andhra Pradesh being responsible for the repayment, no effort was made to reclaim Telangana’s share. Jagan, even with his close connections, did not act to secure the funds.
Naidu Focus on Recovery
When Naidu took office, he immediately addressed the issue. He raised the matter with the Central Finance Ministry, emphasizing the importance of recovering the funds. Thanks to his determination, the Telangana government finally agreed to transfer the ₹2,500 crore owed to Andhra Pradesh.
Securing the Funds
Naidu’s ability to collaborate with both state and central officials was key to resolving the matter. He worked closely with Telangana CM A. Revanth Reddy, who cooperated to ensure the payment was made. This marked a significant victory for Andhra Pradesh, as the funds were successfully transferred through Intergovernmental Transfer (IGT).
Looking Ahead
The recovery of ₹2,500 crore provides a much-needed financial boost for Andhra Pradesh. Naidu’s leadership shows how effective governance can directly benefit the people of the state.
