Mithun Reddy Fulfills Promise: New Car for YSRCP MP Redappa

Mithun Reddy Fulfills Promise: High Tensions in Punganur:

In a dramatic sequence of events on July 18th, Rajampeta MP and key YSR Congress party leader Mithun Reddy’s visit to Punganur town turned into a major law and order issue. His visit was meant to show support for party cadres allegedly attacked after the formation of the new government. However, it escalated into a confrontation with TDP supporters who gathered to protest against his presence.

Clashes Erupt:

As tensions mounted, the situation outside the residence of former Chittoor MP Redappa spiraled out of control. Both YSRCP and TDP groups engaged in stone-pelting, leading to a violent clash. The local police, overwhelmed by the sudden outbreak of violence, struggled to control the mob. Several supporters from both sides sustained serious injuries during the altercation. TDP cadres alleged that stones were hurled at them from within Redappa’s compound while they were peacefully protesting.

Property Damage and Aftermath:

The violence resulted in significant property damage, with numerous vehicles being damaged, and Redappa’s car was set ablaze by the agitated mob. In the wake of the incident, Mithun Reddy vowed to compensate those who suffered losses during the clashes. He promised to provide new vehicles for the victims and rebuild homes that were destroyed in the violence.

Mithun Reddy Keeps His Word:

True to his word, Mithun Reddy recently delivered on his promise by gifting a brand-new car worth ₹20 lakhs to Redappa. He personally visited Redappa’s house to hand over the keys, demonstrating his commitment to supporting his party members and restoring the losses they faced. This gesture is seen as a significant move to maintain morale among YSRCP cadres.

Ongoing Tensions and Police Vigilance:

Despite Mithun Reddy’s efforts to mend the situation, the political climate in Punganur remains tense. The violent clashes have left the town on edge, with both YSRCP and TDP supporters wary of further confrontations. The police have increased their presence in the area, urging both groups to avoid any unnecessary gatherings and to remain in their homes unless absolutely necessary.
