Lokesh’s Red Book Sparks Political Ripple Effect in Telugu States
The Rise of Nara Lokesh’s Red Book Initiative
In the lead-up to the 2024 Andhra Pradesh elections, Nara Lokesh introduced a unique political tool: the Red Book. Designed to document and protect TDP supporters from alleged harassment by YSRCP leaders and certain government officials, the initiative initially faced widespread ridicule.
Leaders like Kodali Nani, Ambati Rambabu, and others from the YSRCP openly mocked Lokesh, calling it a gimmick. However, the political climate quickly shifted as the Red Book gained traction and began resonating with the TDP cadre and the public alike.
Red Book Growing Impact Across Telugu Politics
What was once dismissed has now become a powerful symbol of accountability. Even former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy acknowledged the growing influence of the Red Book, which speaks volumes about its momentum.
Interestingly, the very leaders who ridiculed the Red Book are now adopting similar tactics. Ambati Rambabu recently claimed that the YSRCP is maintaining its own list in response — a subtle yet clear acknowledgment of the Red Book’s effectiveness.
Kavitha’s Pink Book: Telangana Takes a Page from Lokesh’s Strategy
The influence of Lokesh’s Red Book has now transcended state borders. BRS leader K. Kavitha, while addressing her party workers in Telangana, revealed that she too is maintaining a “Pink Book” to record names of officials and individuals allegedly harassing BRS leaders under the current Congress regime.
Kavitha stated, “Many of our leaders are saying they are being targeted by the Congress government. Let them know, I am also maintaining a Pink Book, recording the names of those who are troubling us. Once we return to power, they will face the consequences.”
It’s evident that this Pink Note strategy draws direct inspiration from Lokesh’s Red Note — a sign of how one state’s political tactic has triggered a ripple effect across the Telugu region.
A Rare Political Trendsetter
Lokesh’s Red Note campaign has done more than just reassure his party’s base — it has become a blueprint for political retaliation and safeguarding. For opposition leaders in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to emulate the concept in their own forms, shows just how impactful and widespread this campaign has become.
In a time when political strategies rarely leave their party echo chambers, Lokesh’s Red Book has broken the mold, becoming a talking point and a trendsetter across Telugu states.
