Kejriwal Hits Back at Modi Over Lavish Spending Allegations
Kejriwal Sharp Critique of Modi Amid Delhi Poll Campaign
With the Delhi assembly elections approaching, political battles are intensifying. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a direct attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), calling it “AAPda” (disaster) for Delhi due to allegations of corruption under its government. Arvind Kejriwal criticizes Modi over a 2,700 crore bungalow
Kejriwal Responds with a Three-Point Counter
In a strong rebuttal, AAP leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accused the BJP of being the real disaster. He outlined three key issues within the BJP:
- Lack of Leadership: “The BJP doesn’t even have a CM face for Delhi.”
- No Clear Narrative: “The BJP is struggling to establish a compelling narrative.”
- Absence of an Agenda: “The BJP has no concrete plan for Delhi’s development.”
Modi’s Allegations and Kejriwal’s Retorts
During the inauguration of a housing project for slum dwellers, Modi accused the AAP government of being involved in multiple scams, including liquor, school, and pollution scams. He stated, “AAP is a disaster for Delhi, and people are rising against it.”
Kejriwal hit back by questioning Modi’s claims of modest governance. He highlighted lavish expenses, including:
- ₹2,700 Crore Bungalow: Built for the PM.
- ₹8,400 Crore Plane: Used for official travel.
- ₹10 Lakh Suit: Worn by Modi.
“It’s ironic to hear remarks about simplicity from someone who indulges in such luxury,” Kejriwal stated.
Unfulfilled Promises in BJP’s Manifesto
Kejriwal criticized the BJP’s failure to deliver on its 2020 manifesto promises. The BJP had pledged to provide pucca houses for all Delhi residents by 2022. However, only 4,700 homes have been handed over, leaving 4 lakh slums and 15 lakh people still in need of housing.
“At this rate, BJP’s promises will take 200 years to fulfill,” Kejriwal mocked.
Escalating Tensions Ahead of Elections
As the elections draw closer, the war of words between the BJP and AAP expected to intensify. Both parties are sharpening their narratives, making this one of the most heated election campaigns in Delhi’s recent history.
