KCR Took 57 Lakh Salary for Just 2 Days of Assembly Attendance

KCR’s Assembly Attendance Raises Questions

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has been waiting for an opportunity to engage in a verbal face-off with BRS chief and former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) since the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections. However, despite being the Leader of the Opposition, KCR has remained largely absent from Assembly Attendance.

In the last 15 months, KCR has attended the Telangana Assembly only twice—once to take his oath as an MLA and the second time during the opening of the 2024 budget session. This glaring absence has now become a major political talking point.

Revanth Reddy Exposes KCR’s Salary Despite Poor Assembly Attendance

During the Assembly session, Revanth Reddy took a direct swipe at KCR, exposing a stunning revelation regarding the former CM’s salary and benefits.

KCR has attended the Assembly for only 2 days in the last 15 months.
Despite this, he received a salary of ₹57,84,124.
Revanth Reddy questioned KCR’s accountability as the Leader of the Opposition.
He accused KCR of taking public money without fulfilling his legislative responsibilities.

Revanth emphasized that while public servants are expected to actively participate in governance, KCR has been noticeably absent from crucial discussions affecting Telangana’s future.

Revanth Reddy Challenges KCR to a Public Debate

The Telangana CM went a step further and challenged KCR to a public debate on key state issues, governance policies, and financial management.

“I respect KCR’s experience and leadership. But he must attend the Assembly and participate in discussions. If he refuses, it proves that he has no answers for Telangana’s problems.” – Revanth Reddy

Revanth added that while the Congress government is committed to transparency and progress, the BRS leadership is avoiding accountability. He stated that if KCR is truly concerned about Telangana’s welfare, he should come forward and engage in a debate rather than avoiding legislative duties.

Is KCR Ignoring His Responsibilities as Leader of the Opposition?

This controversy has sparked intense political discussions, with many questioning KCR’s commitment to Telangana’s governance.

Critics argue that KCR, as the Leader of the Opposition, should be attending the Assembly regularly to hold the government accountable.
BRS supporters claim that KCR prefers to work behind the scenes and strategize for the 2029 elections.
Analysts believe that his absence may damage his public image and credibility among voters.

Despite the mounting criticism, KCR has not yet responded to Revanth Reddy’s challenge. His continued absence from the Assembly is expected to be a major issue in upcoming political campaigns.

Political Reactions & Public Perception

The revelation about KCR’s salary despite low attendance has stirred public anger, with many Telangana residents expressing their disappointment.

👥 Public Sentiment: Many feel that elected representatives should held accountable for their salaries and attendance, just like ordinary government employees.

📢 Congress Leaders: They are using this controversy to target BRS’s governance failures, highlighting that KCR and his party benefited from public money without fulfilling their duties.

🔴 BRS Response: The party has remained largely silent on this issue, with no strong defense from its leaders so far.

With Telangana’s political climate heating up, all eyes are now on KCR’s next move. Will he break his silence and respond to Revanth Reddy’s challenge? Or will he continue to remain distant from the Assembly?
