KCR to Skip Telangana Assembly Sessions: Why KTR Advises?
KTR Reveals Why KCR Skips Assembly Sessions
Former Telangana Chief Minister and BRS President K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) has stayed away from Assembly sessions since losing the 2023 Telangana elections. For over a year, KCR has confined himself to his farmhouse, raising questions about his absence from the state’s legislative process.
BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) addressed this topic recently, making some striking remarks. He hinted that KCR might avoid attending Assembly sessions for the next four years unless he regains the Chief Minister’s position in the upcoming election.
Comparing KCR with Political Icons
When questioned about KCR’s absence, KTR cited examples of former Chief Ministers like N.T. Rama Rao (NTR) and Jayalalithaa, who also avoided legislative assemblies for extended periods. According to KTR, these leaders returned to public favor and reclaimed their positions.
KTR explained that KCR would only return to the Assembly if he is re-elected as Chief Minister. “Why must he come to the Assembly to be humiliated by the Congress? We are advising him against attending. It’s unnecessary to subject him to such indignity,” KTR remarked, referring to what he called the Congress’s “sadistic behavior.”
Congress Questions KCR’s Approach
These statements have drawn criticism from Telangana Congress leaders, who view KCR’s absence as an affront to the democratic mandate.
“How can an opposition leader avoid the Assembly? Isn’t this disrespecting the public mandate? If he finds this role humiliating, why not resign?” a Congress supporter wrote on social media.
Congress leaders argue that KCR’s absence undermines the principles of accountability and representation. They believe that an opposition leader’s presence in the Assembly is crucial to holding the ruling party accountable.
Public Reaction
KCR’s decision to skip Assembly sessions has sparked mixed reactions among the public. While his supporters see it as a strategic move to avoid unnecessary confrontation, critics believe it sets a negative precedent for democratic processes.
The debate continues as KCR’s political strategy and its implications for Telangana’s legislative future remain under scrutiny.
