KA Paul Demands Tirupati Be Declared a Separate Nation

KA Paul Demand for Tirupati as a Separate Nation

KA Paul, the president of the Praja Santhi Party, recently made a bold statement regarding Tirupati. He even filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) to support his demand.

Paul also compared Tirupati to Vatican City in Italy. He argued that just like Vatican City, which is an independent nation despite being within Italy, Tirupati deserves a similar status due to its significance. With a population of 34 lakh people, Paul believes that Tirupati is large and important enough to become its own nation.

KA Paul Call for Investigation Amid Controversy

Paul has also demanded that the ongoing laddu controversy should be thoroughly investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He believes that such a probe is necessary to ensure transparency in how the famous laddu is made and managed.

Changes in Cashew Supply for Tirupati Laddu

In a significant move, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) announced a change in how they source cashew nuts for the laddu. After nearly 45 years, the temple will now get cashews from Palasa, a region famous for its high-quality JH variety cashews. Korada Santosh, a prominent trader from Palasa, won the tender to supply over three tonnes of cashews daily for the Srivari temple kitchen.

For the last few decades, suppliers from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala held these contracts. Now, Santosh and his team feel proud that they can contribute to the sacred process of laddu preparation. The factory workers even consider this opportunity a divine offering.

A Return to Tradition After 45 Years

This change marks the return of Palasa cashews to Tirumala after a long gap of 45 years. For decades, traders from other states supplied the cashews. Now, the people of Palasa are excited to see their high-quality nuts used in the famous Tirupati laddu once again.
