Infosys Pocharam Campus Expansion: 17,000 Jobs Coming Soon

Infosys Limited has announced a major expansion of its Pocharam campus in Hyderabad, creating 17,000 new jobs. This decision strengthens Telangana’s status as a top IT hub in India.

The announcement came during the World Economic Forum in Davos after Infosys CFO, Mr. Jayesh Sanghrajka, met Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister, Shri D Sridhar Babu.

Investment and Timeline

The expansion will proceed in phases, starting with an investment of ₹750 crores. In the first phase, new buildings will be built to accommodate 10,000 employees. This phase will finish within 2-3 years, marking a significant step for Infosys and Telangana’s IT sector.

Infosys currently employs over 35,000 people at its Pocharam campus, one of the company’s largest facilities in India. Adding 17,000 jobs will further boost the state’s thriving IT ecosystem.

Telangana’s IT Growth Strategy with Infosys

The Telangana government has shown consistent efforts to develop the IT sector. Minister Shri D Sridhar Babu expressed the state’s commitment to fostering partnerships and creating opportunities.

“The Government of Telangana is dedicated to nurturing talent and supporting innovation. We aim to build strong alliances that drive the state’s economy forward,” he stated.

Infosys CFO Mr. Jayesh Sanghrajka also highlighted the company’s partnership with the Telangana government. “This collaboration reflects our shared vision of empowering communities and strengthening the IT landscape,” he said.
