In Hyderabad’s Bandlaguda Jagir, a community set a new record by purchasing a Ganesh laddu for a staggering Rs. 1.87 crore during the auction.

Richmond Villas Shatter Previous Record

Residents of Richmond Villas, located in Sun City in the Bandlaguda Jagir area, came together as a community to bid on the Ganesh laddu during the auction. The final bid of Rs. 1.87 crore marks the highest amount paid for a laddu this year, breaking the previous record set by the same community. Last year, the Richmond Villas residents had won the laddu for Rs. 1.26 crore, making this year’s price a massive Rs. 60 lakh higher.

Auction Proceeds to Support Charity

The generosity behind the bidding has a noble cause. The residents of Richmond Villas have decided to donate the auctioned amount to the RV Divya Charitable Trust, continuing their tradition of using the festive occasion to support charitable endeavors. This collective effort not only showcases the spirit of devotion but also highlights the importance of giving back to the community.

Balapur Laddu Auctioned for Rs. 30 Lakh

In addition to the Richmond Villas auction, the highly anticipated Balapur laddu auction also took place. BJP leader Kolanu Shankar Reddy emerged as the winning bidder, securing the laddu for Rs. 30,01,000. Interestingly, this is the ninth time his family has won the Balapur laddu. Reddy announced that he plans to dedicate the laddu to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adding a political significance to the auction.
