Permanent High Court Bench for AP in Kurnool: Government Takes Action
The Andhra Pradesh government is making significant strides toward establishing a permanent High Court Bench in Kurnool. This move aims to enhance the judicial system in the Rayalaseema region by improving accessibility to justice.
As part of the initiative, the Kurnool District Collector and Magistrate have directed key officials, including the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO), Commissioner, and R&B Superintendent, to conduct a detailed infrastructure and land assessment for the proposed High Court Bench.
Government’s Directives for Setting Up the High Court Bench
The district administration has been instructed to evaluate the availability of infrastructure required for the new High Court Bench, including:
15 High Court Judges’ chambers
Court Complex & Courtrooms
Staff rooms & Advocate chambers
Residential accommodations for Judges & court staff
Officials have been given a deadline of January 30th to submit a comprehensive report, which will be presented to the Honourable Committee overseeing the establishment of the High Court Bench.
Land & Infrastructure Assessment for the Kurnool High Court Bench
The Revenue Divisional Officer has been tasked with identifying vacant government land suitable for setting up the permanent High Court. In their initial survey, officials have examined locations, including:

These sites are being assessed for their feasibility in terms of space, accessibility, and infrastructure to accommodate the judicial and administrative requirements of the new High Court.
