HCL Expands Operations in Andhra Pradesh with 15,000 New Jobs

Nara Lokesh Leads Productive Discussions with HCL

The state’s IT minister, Nara Lokesh, announced the exciting development after a productive meeting with HCL corporate VP Smt. Shiva Shankar and AVP Shivaprasad. These discussions revolved around the details of HCL’s upcoming expansion in Andhra Pradesh.

The TDP Government’s Role in HCL’s Success

Lokesh reminded that HCL’s operations in Andhra Pradesh began in 2014, during the TDP government’s rule. Back then, the company started with 4,500 employees. Now, with the groundwork already laid by the previous government, the expansion plan is set in motion.

This expansion isn’t just about adding new jobs; it also emphasizes skill development initiatives. Lokesh revealed that HCL is keen on contributing to the TDP government’s ongoing efforts to upskill the local workforce.

Employment Generation and Skill Development

The TDP-Jana Sena-BJP coalition government has always placed employment generation at the forefront of its agenda. This expansion by HCL aligns perfectly with that vision, providing a conducive ground for employment and skill development.

Nara Lokesh reassured that the government remains committed to providing all the necessary clearances and releasing the pending incentives to ensure HCL’s success in this massive expansion project.

Challenges in Attracting Global IT Giants

Despite this positive news, Lokesh also acknowledged the previous challenges the state faced in attracting major IT giants like Google and Apple. Efforts led by TDP MP Pemmasani Chandrasekhar didn’t bear fruit due to the unfavorable business climate over the last five years. However, with HCL’s renewed commitment, it is evident that the government is making progress in positioning Andhra Pradesh as a favorable hub for tech expansion.

Conclusion: A New Era for IT Growth in Andhra Pradesh with HCL

With HCL leading the charge in expanding its network and generating employment, Andhra Pradesh is poised to witness a surge in IT activity. This expansion marks a significant step towards building a stronger, more skilled workforce in the state, under the leadership of the TDP government.
