The issuance of these Govt certificates, including the land certificate known as Jagananna Sashwata Bhu Hakku Patram, raised concerns because they featured outdated imagery. The issue came to light when a certificate was distributed from the Mee Seva center at Dabbakulapalli village in Votsaboyi mandal.
Recent reports revealed that revenue officials in NTR district issued certificates bearing former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s photo. This happened despite the fact that a new TDP coalition government had recently taken office. This oversight has sparked significant controversy and led to official scrutiny.
Showcause Notices and Official Response
In response, the authorities issued showcause notices to key officials: the tahsildar, revenue inspector (RI), and village revenue officer (VRO). They have been asked to explain why these outdated certificates were issued. Additionally, the mandal revenue officer (MRO) requested a detailed report on how many such certificates were distributed.
The local TDP cadre has strongly criticized the revenue officials for their oversight. They argue that continuing to use the old Navaratnalu certificates undermines the legitimacy of the new government. Consequently, they have demanded that the license of the implicated Mee Seva center be revoked.
Revenue Department’s Immediate Actions on Govt Certificates
Officials have acknowledged that while most certificates were updated post-government transition, a mistake led to one certificate being issued with Jagan’s image. An immediate inquiry is underway to address this issue. They have also pledged to withdraw any additional outdated certificates found.
To prevent future mistakes, all Mee Seva centers and revenue officials are being instructed to exercise greater caution. The problematic certificate, issued on September 12, was related to a request for an Adangal copy. Officials are urging centers to return any old certificates and replace them with the new ones.
