Flex “Gadida Guddu” : BJP Faces Satirical Backlash in Hyderabad
Political Satire Takes Center Stage by the flex Trend
In Telangana, political parties often utilize billboards and hoardings to highlight each other’s shortcomings in a satirical manner. This practice frequently makes headlines and garners significant attention on social media. Historically, BRS, Congress, and BJP have employed such tactics to criticize one another.
BJP Faces Criticism After National Budget
Recently, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has become the target of public satire following the announcement of the national budget. The budget, presented by the central government, did not include any allocations for Telangana, sparking widespread criticism of Narendra Modi’s government for allegedly neglecting the state’s interests.
Hoardings Mock BJP’s Budget Allocation
In the wake of the budget announcement, hoardings mocking the BJP government began appearing throughout Hyderabad. These banners, written in vernacular language, criticize the BJP for failing to allocate funds to Telangana despite winning 8 MP seats in the recent Parliament elections. The hoardings highlighted the lack of funding for state projects, infrastructure, and other initiatives.
The ‘Gadida Guddu’ Controversy
One prominent hoarding features a sarcastic message: “What did the BJP allot in the Budget for Telangana which gave 8 MPs? – Gadida Guddu (Donkey’s Egg).” This flex, which mocks the national party, has quickly gained traction and is trending on social media.
Uncertain Origin of the Campaign
It remains unclear whether the negative campaign against the BJP was initiated by the Congress party or the BRS. Regardless of its origin, the hoardings have certainly succeeded in capturing public attention and highlighting the ongoing political tensions.
