Fact Check: No Truth in Reports About Inter Exam Cancelation

Amid recent rumors about the cancellation of Inter exam, Intermediate Board Secretary Kruttika Shukla has clarified that these claims are baseless. Instead, the Board is actively working on reforms to enhance the academic performance of over 10 lakh students in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Suggestions Invited for Reforms

Kruttika Shukla has invited suggestions from stakeholders, including parents, teachers, and educationists, to bring meaningful changes in Intermediate education. These reforms aim to alleviate the burden on students and help improve their academic outcomes. Stakeholders can share their inputs via email at biereforms@gmail.com.

The Board is also examining the First Year Intermediate examination process in other states to introduce better practices. Shukla noted that except for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, no other state conducts public examinations for Inter First Year students, relying instead on internal exams as per the National Education Policy (NEP).

Inter Exam: Proposed Reforms in Intermediate Education

The Intermediate Board is planning major changes, including:

  • Revised Syllabus: The syllabus will updated for the first time in years to align with the CBSE curriculum starting from the 2025-26 academic year.
  • Subject Combinations: New subject combinations will introduced.
  • Mark Allocation: The marking system will undergo revisions.
  • Exam Patterns: A reformed exam structure for First Year students being proposed.

Over 15 states have already adopted NCERT textbooks for Intermediate education. To ensure a robust syllabus, 14 committees comprising university professors, experienced lecturers, and educationists have formed. These committees will review stakeholder suggestions to finalize the reforms.

Considering CBSE Syllabus Implementation

Shukla highlighted the Board’s plan to incorporate the CBSE syllabus into Intermediate education. This shift aims to modernize the curriculum and better prepare students for competitive exams and higher education.

The draft syllabus is available for public review on the official Board of Intermediate Education website at www.bieap.gov.in.

Other Key Reforms

  • The Board is considering removing the rule that mandates a compulsory pass in Inter First Year exams.
  • Steps taken to reduce student stress by making the examination process more manageable and student-friendly.

Inter Exam Cancelation: Conclusion

The Intermediate Board committed to improving the education system with reforms that align with the NEP and modern academic requirements. Parents, teachers, and educationists encouraged to contribute their suggestions to shape these changes effectively.
