Exposing the YSRCP’s Land Mafia: The Vizag Files
Do you recall the contentious movie “The Kashmir Files,” which revealed the heartbreaking plight of Kashmiri pandits in the 1990s? In a similar vein, the Andhra Pradesh administration is set to release the “Vizag Files” to expose the land mafia activities of the former YSRCP regime in Vishakapatnam. This new revelation aims to bring to light the numerous irregularities that occurred during the YSRCP’s five-year rule from 2019 to 2024.
Ghanta Srinivas Rao’s Accusations
Popular Vizag politician and TDP MLA for Bheemili, Ghanta Srinivas Rao, recently claimed in a press conference that the YSRCP engaged in egregious land irregularities. According to Rao, YSRCP leaders conspired with senior government officials to encroach upon thousands of acres of land in Vishakapatnam. This, he claims, was part of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s three-capital formula, which proposed Vishakapatnam as the state’s executive capital.
The Role of the Former Chief Secretary
Rao’s accusations did not stop at the YSRCP leaders. He made a startling claim that the then-Chief Secretary to the State was personally responsible for these land encroachments. Rao assured that all transgressions would soon be exposed with supporting evidence. The current administration, he added, is discussing appropriate measures to eliminate the land mafia’s threat to the city.
Previous Exposures
Ghanta Srinivas Rao has a history of exposing irregularities. Just last month, he was instrumental in bringing to light the notorious “Rushikonda Palace” scandal in Vizag. Now, he aims to reveal how YSRCP leaders resorted to using force to infringe on public and government lands.
Allegations Against MP Vijay Sai Reddy
Over the past five years, multiple accusations have been made against MP Vijay Sai Reddy, who was in charge of the Vizag parliament and was close to Jagan. Numerous stories surfaced detailing how the YSRCP acquired thousands of acres in and around Vizag, especially before the announcement of the three capitals.
