CV Anand: The New Commissioner of Police in Hyderabad

CV Anand, a 1991 batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police in Hyderabad. The Telangana government announced this change on Vinayaka Chavithi. This shift in leadership is part of several IPS transfers approved by the state government.

CV Anand Experience and Leadership

This is not Anand’s first time as Hyderabad’s Commissioner. He previously served in this role from December 2021 to October 2022. Afterward, he moved to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) during central deputation. Now, he returns to lead Hyderabad’s police force.

Anand is well-known for his strict yet approachable policing. He has worked in difficult regions like Warangal, Adilabad, and Nizamabad, where Maoist activity was once a major issue. During his time there, he led several operations that eliminated key Maoist leaders. His hands-on experience and strong leadership have earned him respect across Telangana.

Other Key Appointments

Along with Anand’s return, other senior officers have also taken new roles. Kothakota Srinivas Reddy is the new Director General of Vigilance and Enforcement. Vijay Kumar now serves as the Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
