Congress Leaders Intensify Lobbying for Cabinet Positions

Increased Lobbying as Cabinet Expansion Nears

As local bodies’ elections approach, Congress leaders in Telangana are actively lobbying for key positions. The speculation of an upcoming Cabinet expansion, filling nominated posts, and appointing a new Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president has sparked intense political activity.

Congress Leaders In Race for Cabinet Seats and Nominated Posts

The state leadership plans to fill several crucial positions, including Cabinet seats and other nominated posts, as part of its election strategy. With strong indications that some MLAs might join the Cabinet, the competition has heated up. Leaders are working hard to secure their positions.

A senior Congress leader commented, “The possibility of appointing a Deputy Speaker, one whip, and chairpersons for various corporations is high.” This has intensified the race among leaders aiming for these prestigious roles.

Congress Leaders Travel to Delhi and the US

To strengthen their chances, some Congress leaders have gone to New Delhi to meet with the party high command. Others have traveled to the United States to meet with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, currently on an official visit. These actions highlight the seriousness of their efforts to secure Cabinet seats or other significant posts.

Parigi MLA Rammohan Reddy, one of the leaders lobbying for a Cabinet position, is among those who traveled to the US. Meanwhile, other leaders aspiring to become the next TPCC president are watching developments closely, hoping to secure the top spot.

Fierce Competition for TPCC President Post

The race for the TPCC president post is heating up, with several prominent leaders in the running. MLA Mahesh Kumar Goud, AICC Spokesperson Madhu Yaskhi Goud, AICC Secretary Sampath Kumar, and MP Balram Naik are leading contenders. The competition is fierce, as each candidate seeks to gain the high command’s support.

Recently, Telangana Mahila Congress president Sunitha Rao staged a protest in New Delhi. She appealed to the high command to recognize the contributions of women in the party and offer them suitable positions. Her protest on July 20 emphasized the need for greater female representation in key roles.

Anticipated Announcements

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is expected to return from his US visit soon. Announcements about the Cabinet expansion, nominated posts, and the TPCC president post are likely. These decisions will shape Telangana’s political landscape as the party prepares for upcoming elections.
