Chandrababu Naidu Claims to be Jagan’s Biggest Victim
Chandrababu Naidu Reflects on His Arrest: “I Am the Biggest Victim of Jagan”
Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu, has described himself as the “biggest victim” of the YSR Congress Party (YCP) leader and current Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Despite leading a resilient election campaign in 2024 and securing a significant win for the NDA alliance, Chandrababu’s recent interactions show that the scars from his imprisonment still run deep.
Speaking to TDP cadres, Naidu recounted the torture he faced during his 53-day imprisonment last year. His arrest was one of the many strategies deployed by his political opponents in an effort to undermine his leadership. However, Chandrababu views this phase as a testament to his strength and resilience.
Imprisonment Under Jagan’s Tenure: “I Was Put Through Hell”
Naidu shared with his supporters the mental and physical struggles he faced during his jail time. “I understand that many TDP leaders were tortured by this psychopathic Jagan Mohan Reddy. They subjected me to inhumane conditions in jail. Drones were flown inside the jail to monitor me, and CCTV cameras recorded my every movement. I wasn’t even given access to hot water.” These statements highlight the extent of the hardships Chandrababu claims to have faced during his imprisonment.
I am Jagan’s Victim But Revenge Politics Not My Style: Chandrababu
Despite the difficult times he endured, Chandrababu Naidu made it clear that revenge is not part of his political strategy. While speaking with his party members, he emphasized, “If I wanted, I could have jailed every individual responsible for my torture, but that is not who I am. Revenge politics are not my style.” His statements show that despite the trials he has faced under Jagan’s rule, Chandrababu remains focused on governance and leadership rather than retaliation.
The 2024 election was a crucial one for Naidu and his allies, including Pawan Kalyan. The victory, with 164 seats secured, gave the NDA outfit significant political leverage. However, it seems that the impact of Jagan’s tenure, particularly Naidu’s imprisonment, continues to cast a shadow over this victory.
Moving Forward: Chandrababu’s Leadership Amid Adversity
Naidu’s reflection on his jail experience and his comments about Jagan show a deeper insight into the political climate in Andhra Pradesh. His message to the TDP cadres indicates that while his time in jail was challenging, his focus is now on rebuilding and ensuring that the party thrives under his leadership. The scars of the past may linger, but Chandrababu Naidu’s eyes are set on the future.
