CBN on the Ground at Polavaram: Commitment to Completion

Chandrababu Naidu’s Determination to Complete Polavaram

The Polavaram Irrigation Project is one of the most ambitious infrastructure projects in Andhra Pradesh. Designed to provide irrigation, drinking water, and hydroelectric power, it has faced multiple delays due to funding issues and administrative hurdles.

However, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has taken a personal interest in expediting the project. His recent on-ground visit to Polavaram underscores his commitment to completing it within his tenure.

CBN Inspects Polavaram Project

On his latest visit to Polavaram, Chandrababu Naidu personally inspected the site and reviewed the ongoing construction activities. He interacted with engineers and project officials to assess the pace of work and ensure that all necessary steps are taken to avoid further delays.

During his visit, Naidu emphasized the importance of fast-tracking the construction and resolving any bottlenecks that could hinder progress. He reiterated that his government is fully committed to completing the project on time.

Support for Displaced Families

The Polavaram Project has led to the displacement of thousands of families. Addressing their concerns, Chandrababu Naidu made it clear that his government prioritizes their rehabilitation and compensation.

“It is our responsibility to support the displaced people of Polavaram. The previous government did not provide even a single paisa. In just nine months, our coalition government has directly transferred ₹829 crore into the accounts of the displaced people—without any corruption.”

His remarks highlight the TDP government’s commitment to ensuring that affected families receive their rightful compensation without bureaucratic delays.

Polavaram Project to Be Completed by 2027

One of the biggest takeaways from Naidu’s visit his strong assurance that the project will completed by 2027. Despite years of setbacks, Naidu remains confident that with proper planning and effective execution, Polavaram will be finished on schedule.

His government has already taken steps to streamline the construction process by ensuring that funds allocated promptly and that the work progresses without unnecessary hurdles.

A Landmark Project for Andhra Pradesh

Once completed, the Polavaram Project expected to:
Provide drinking water to over 500 villages
Irrigate 7.2 lakh acres of farmland
Generate 960 MW of hydroelectric power
Supply drinking water to 28 lakh people
Reduce the risk of drought and floods

The completion of this project will significantly boost the agricultural sector and improve the quality of life for millions of people in Andhra Pradesh.
