CBN Cancels Hayagreeva Farms Land in Vizag
Andhra Pradesh Government Revokes Hayagreeva Farms Land
In a major crackdown on land fraud, the Andhra Pradesh government has officially canceled the allotment of 12.51 acres in Visakhapatnam, originally granted to Hayagreeva Farms and Developers. The land was meant for constructing homes for senior citizens and orphans, but an Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation uncovered massive fraud.
Fraudulent Sale of Government-Allotted Hayagreeva Land
According to the ED’s findings, Hayagreeva Farms illegally sold the allotted land to multiple buyers, generating an estimated ₹150 crore in illicit profits. Following this, the AP government issued a Government Order (GO) on Monday, directing the Visakhapatnam District Collector to reclaim the land and repurpose it for public welfare.
ED Seizes Properties Worth ₹44.75 Crore
Earlier in February 2024, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Visakhapatnam, took strict action against Hayagreeva Farms by attaching 14 immovable properties worth ₹42.03 crore and six movable properties valued at ₹2.71 crore. These assets, totaling ₹44.75 crore, were seized under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.
Prominent Names Involved in the Land Scam
The seized properties belong to multiple individuals and entities, including:
- MVV Builders
- Hayagreeva Infratech Projects Limited
- Gadde Brahmaji and his wife
- Chilukuri Jagadeeswarudu
- Chilukuri Radha Rani
- Hayagreeva Projects
- Varanasi Dileep
The ED launched its probe after an FIR was registered at Arilova Police Station, Visakhapatnam. The case involves allegations of forgery, document tampering, and coercion to acquire government land. Among those named in the case are:
- Gadde Brahmaji
- Gannamani Venkateswara Rao
- Former YSRCP MP MVV Satyanarayana
MVV Satyanarayana Under Investigation
In 2023, the ED raided properties linked to MVV Satyanarayana as part of its investigation. Officials found that Hayagreeva Farms acquired the land in 2010 for ₹5.63 crore, even though the AP Registration & Stamps Department valued it at around ₹30.25 crore at the time.
From 2021 onwards, the accused divided the land into smaller plots and sold them through fraudulent agreements and sale deeds, amassing over ₹150 crore in illegal profits.
Government Action to Prevent Future Land Frauds
The AP government’s decision to cancel the land allotment reinforces its commitment to preventing land fraud and ensuring public resources used for their intended purpose. This move marks a significant step in addressing corruption and holding fraudulent entities accountable.
With the ED continuing its probe, more developments in this case expected in the coming months.
Final Thoughts
The cancellation of Hayagreeva Farms’ land allotment a strong message from the Chandrababu Naidu-led government that land fraud will not tolerated. The AP government’s proactive measures aim to protect public assets and ensure transparency in land transactions.
