BRS Leader’s Controversial Remarks on Tirumala

Controversy Surrounding BRS Leader’s Comments on Tirumala

Tirumala, the sacred shrine revered by Hindus worldwide, has recently become a focal point of political controversies. From the Laddu contamination issue to politicians making statements at the holy site, the spiritual sanctity of Tirumala has been repeatedly questioned. In an effort to curb this trend, the newly appointed Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board recently issued a directive banning political statements at the shrine. However, a senior BRS leader’s and ex-minister, Srinivas Goud, has stirred controversy by openly flouting this regulation.

BRS Leader’s Controversial Comments

While visiting Tirumala, Srinivas Goud made statements suggesting bias against Telangana residents at the shrine.

“Tirumala is a sacred place for all Hindus, and visiting the shrine and performing rituals like head tonsure is a long-standing tradition for us Telangana people. However, we have observed discrimination against Telangana’s people, politicians, and businessmen here,” Goud said.

He further called upon CM Chandrababu Naidu to address the alleged partiality, emphasizing the need for restoring fairness at Tirumala.

Violating TTD’s Directive

Srinivas Goud’s remarks directly contradict TTD’s recent regulation that prohibits any form of political discourse at the holy site. TTD Chairman BR Naidu had earlier warned that strict legal action would be taken against those violating this order.

The chairman stated, “Tirumala is a spiritual center, and no one is allowed to make political statements here. Violators will face legal consequences.”

Now, with Srinivas Goud’s controversial comments in full public view, the focus shifts to whether TTD will take action against the BRS leader for disregarding its rule.

Public Reaction

Srinivas Goud’s statements have ignited criticism on social media, with many accusing him of disrespecting the sanctity of Tirumala.

“If he feels there’s an issue, he should address it formally with the TTD board or the Chief Minister. Making public comments at the shrine risks creating regional tensions,” a netizen wrote.

Others have called for immediate action from TTD, urging the board to demonstrate its commitment to maintaining the shrine’s apolitical environment.

Conclusion

The remarks by Srinivas Goud have brought the focus back to the importance of maintaining the spiritual sanctity of Tirumala. With the TTD board emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy for political statements, all eyes are now on its response. Will the board act decisively and take legal action against the BRS leader, or will this incident further blur the line between politics and spirituality at the holy shrine?
