BR Naidu Orders Action Against BRS Leader for Comments
BR Naidu Enforces Ban on Political Statements at Tirumala
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman BR Naidu has reaffirmed his commitment to preserving the sanctity of Tirumala by taking strict action against political statements made on the temple premises. This move comes after BRS leader and former minister Srinivas Goud made controversial remarks at the holy site, drawing widespread attention.
A Strict Stand on Temple Sanctity
Since assuming his role as TTD Chairman, BR Naidu has implemented several rules to ensure the temple remains a place of worship and devotion, free from political influence. One of his most commendable policies is the prohibition of political statements at the Tirumala premises.
Despite the clear rules, Srinivas Goud recently violated this policy by making political comments. Reacting to this, BR Naidu took to his X (formerly Twitter) profile, expressing his firm stance against such actions.
BR Naidu’s Official Response
In his statement, BR Naidu emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and sanctity at Tirumala. He said:
“Anyone who makes political comments on the temple premises that disrupts the peace of Tirumala will not be tolerated. Tirumala is a holy place, not a political platform. We have warned in the past that action will be taken against anyone who uses Tirumala as a political platform.”
Naidu also revealed that the governing body of TTD had previously discussed this issue as a special agenda and resolved to protect the sanctity of the temple. He stated:
“No matter how many people make political comments on Tirumala hill, we will not ignore them. We are taking a serious view of a leader from Telangana making political comments at the Tirumala venue. We are ordering action against him.”
Controversial Remarks by Srinivas Goud
BRS leader Srinivas Goud, while speaking at Tirumala, claimed that Telangana devotees and politicians face discrimination at the temple. He remarked:
“Tirumala is a place of worship for the entire Hindu community. We, the people of Telangana, have been visiting the shrine for a long time, and it is a common tradition for us to take part in the head tonsure practice here. However, in recent days, we have observed that there is partiality against Telangana people, politicians, and businessmen. Telangana people are not being treated well in Tirumala.”
These comments not only violated TTD’s policies but also stirred a heated debate, prompting swift action from BR Naidu.
Protecting Tirumala’s Sanctity
BR Naidu’s proactive measures reflect his dedication to preserving the spiritual integrity of Tirumala. His strong stance against political misuse of the temple premises sends a clear message that Tirumala will remain a sacred space for devotion and not a stage for political agendas.
This incident highlights the need for respecting the sanctity of religious spaces and avoiding activities that disrupt their peace and purpose.
