BJYM Calls for Ban on Prakash Raj Over Controversial Laddu
BJYM Calls for Prakash Raj’s Ban After Controversial Comments
The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) recently protested at the Movie Artists Association (MAA) in Jubilee Hills, Telangana, calling for a ban on actor Prakash Raj. This protest followed his controversial remarks about the preparation of the famous Tirupati Laddu. Prakash Raj questioned the alleged use of animal fat in the laddu, sparking a heated response from both political and religious groups.
Protests at MAA and Memorandum Submission
Alongside their protest, the BJYM submitted a memorandum to the Telugu Film Chamber, urging the industry to take action against Prakash Raj. According to the BJYM, Prakash Raj’s remarks were harmful and created unnecessary tension. They believe his comments were aimed at stirring communal unrest. The group insists that the film industry should distance itself from the actor due to these remarks.
Prakash Raj’s Tweets Escalate the Issue
The controversy began when Prakash Raj posted a series of tweets, addressing Pawan Kalyan directly. In his post, Prakash Raj questioned Pawan Kalyan’s response to the issue, asking, “Dear @PawanKalyan, why are you spreading this matter nationally? Investigate it locally, as it happened in a state where you are a DCM.” He further implied that such comments only worsen the communal tensions already present in the country.
BJYM Stands Firm on Their Demand
Following Prakash Raj’s social media posts, the BJP and its youth wing, BJYM, were quick to respond. They accused the actor of making irresponsible statements, which could worsen social divisions. Their protests and memorandum submission reflect their belief that such actions require strong measures, including an industry-wide ban on the actor.
How Will the Telugu Film Industry Respond?
The Tirupati Laddu controversy has now expanded beyond the religious sphere, entering into the film industry. As the debate grows, the Telugu film fraternity must decide whether to support the BJYM’s demand or remain neutral. Fans, industry members, and political figures are keenly watching to see what steps, if any, will be taken against Prakash Raj.
