Babu’s Masterstroke: Microsoft for Hyderabad, TCS for Vizag!

From Microsoft in Hyderabad to TCS in Vizag: A Vision Reignited

Back in 1998, then-Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu pulled off a visionary move by bringing Microsoft to the then united Andhra Pradesh. After consistent negotiations and strategic offerings, Microsoft finally established its Indian campus in Hyderabad.

That one decision sparked an IT revolution. It transformed Hyderabad into one of the leading tech hubs in India, boosting urban development and global recognition for the city. TCS sets up a new IT campus in Vizag, echoing the same transformative effect that Microsoft had on Hyderabad in 1998.

Even today, this milestone remains one of Babu’s most celebrated achievements across the twin Telugu states.

Now, It’s Vizag’s Turn to Shine

With Hyderabad’s transformation complete, Naidu is now focused on developing Andhra Pradesh, especially Visakhapatnam (Vizag). In a major announcement, the Andhra Pradesh government has allotted 21 acres of land to TCS for a new IT campus in Vizag.

This new move aims to kickstart an IT ecosystem in the city, just as Microsoft did in Hyderabad over two decades ago.

Nara Lokesh Compares TCS-Vizag to Microsoft-Hyderabad

IT Minister Nara Lokesh has drawn a direct comparison between the Microsoft investment in Hyderabad and the TCS campus coming to Vizag. He believes that just like Microsoft laid the foundation for Hyderabad’s tech boom, TCS will play a similar role in Vizag’s development.

Lokesh also highlighted that Vizag positioned as the financial capital of Andhra Pradesh, and more major investments expected to follow in the coming months.

What This Means for Andhra Pradesh

The TCS campus in Vizag expected to create thousands of jobs, foster a tech-friendly environment, and increase investor confidence. With focused leadership from both Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh, Vizag is now firmly on the path to becoming a major IT destination in South India.
