Avanti Srinivas Faces Backlash After Resigning from YCP
Avanti Srinivas Faces Criticism After Resigning from YCP
The YSR Congress Party (YCP) is in turmoil as multiple senior leaders continue to depart the party. Earlier today, former minister Avanti Srinivas resigned from the party, adding another setback to the ruling party’s already crumbling image. His resignation comes shortly after Grandhi Srinivas also left the party, further deepening the crisis for YCP.
Avanti, who had been associated with various political parties over the years, including Prajarajyam and TDP, appeared to sympathize with the NDA government after his departure. In a media interaction, he criticized the YCP’s aggressive stance toward the NDA, particularly the party’s call for protests and dharnas.
Avanti’s Plea for Patience with the NDA Government
Avanti expressed his opinion that it was premature to critique the new government, which had only been in power for six months. He urged YCP cadres to avoid protests against the NDA government, citing the potential for legal complications and the need for time to allow the new government to implement reforms. Avanti emphasized that the NDA should be given at least a year before any harsh judgments were made.
His comments appeared to be an attempt to gain favor with the NDA leadership, as he expressed sympathies for the central government’s position. This prompted a sharp response from TDP leader Buddha Venkanna.
TDP’s Buddha Venkanna Responds to Avanti Srinivas Remarks
In a scathing response to Avanti’s remarks, Buddha Venkanna took to social media, calling Avanti a “chameleon” for his opportunistic political behavior. Venkanna posted an image of Avanti alongside a chameleon, highlighting the former leader’s reputation for changing parties to suit his interests.
Venkanna’s tweet criticized Avanti for his past actions, including his betrayal of Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. He reminded followers that Avanti had been part of Prajarajyam and TDP before joining YCP, only to exit once again. Venkanna stated, “Our government doesn’t need chameleons like you to give us time. People know that you and Jagan Reddy looted the state. You backstabbed the Chiranjeevi family (PRP) and criticized Chandrababu garu, who made you a leader. We don’t need your sympathies or support now.”
Avanti’s Political Journey and Current Situation
Avanti Srinivas has had a long history of party-switching, making his political career one of instability. After starting in Prajarajyam, he later joined TDP and YCP, only to exit once again after his tenure with the latter. His resignation from YCP has raised eyebrows, with many questioning his political motives.
Despite his recent criticisms of YCP, it seems that NDA is not willing to embrace him at this time. His fluctuating political allegiance and opportunistic nature have made him an unpredictable figure, and the TDP’s sharp response further highlights his unpopularity among those who consider him a political opportunist.
Conclusion: Is Avanti Looking for a New Political Home?
With his exit from YCP, Avanti Srinivas has once again found himself at a crossroads. While he appears to be softening his stance toward the NDA, it remains uncertain whether the NDA will be willing to accept him, given his history of political flip-flopping. It’s clear that TDP does not welcome his support, and Avanti’s future in Andhra Pradesh politics seems uncertain. Only time will tell if he can find a new home in the political landscape or if his past will continue to haunt him.
