AP Employee Union Chief Exposes YCP’s Harassment Tactics!
YCP’s Aggressive Actions Against AP Employee
During its tenure, the YSR Congress Party (YCP) government took a harsh stance against Andhra Pradesh government employees, especially those who protested against policies like CPS (Contributory Pension Scheme) and pending bill clearances. In a shocking revelation, AP Employee Association President KR Suryanarayana has exposed the harassment tactics used by the former government to silence dissenting employees.
Shocking Threats from AP Intelligence Chief
Suryanarayana, who played a key role in leading the protests against the Jagan-led government, disclosed that:
- PSR Anjaneyulu, the then-chief of AP Intelligence, personally threatened him to stop the protests.
- He was allegedly asked to surrender before Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, a senior YCP leader.
- The YCP government systematically targeted employee associations and their leaders, using every possible means to suppress them.
YCP’s Attempts to Suppress Employee Protests
While the government publicly projected a narrative of negotiation, Suryanarayana’s statements indicate a covert operation to silence employee unions through fear and intimidation.
- Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and Chief Secretary Jawahar Reddy were officially sent to mediate with the employees.
- However, as per TDP leaders, this was merely a cover-up, while the government misused its power to threaten employee leaders behind the scenes.
Suspensions and Legal Actions Against Employee Leaders
The suppression didn’t stop at threats. The Jagan-led government went a step further by taking strict action against employee leaders:
- KR Suryanarayana and several other association heads were suspended in 2023-24 on charges of corruption and extortion.
- Several union leaders had to abscond due to intense police actions against them.
These incidents highlight the extent of political influence and oppression exercised by the previous YCP government over the state’s government employees.
What’s Next for AP Employee?
With a new government in power, employees are hopeful for a fair and transparent approach to their concerns. The revelations by KR Suryanarayana are likely to spark further discussions on the past government’s alleged misuse of power.
