AP Assembly Criticizes Jagan Over Disruptive Actions

AP Assembly Fires on Jagan’s Conduct

The budget sessions of the AP Assembly officially began today, but YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his MLAs were notably absent. While the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-led government proceeded with legislative discussions, the focus quickly shifted to Jagan’s actions from the previous session.

The Speaker of the Assembly, Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu, did not hold back in his criticism of Jagan’s behavior in the house. He called out the former Chief Minister for instructing his MLAs to disrupt the governor’s speech, creating a spectacle that embarrassed the Assembly.

Speaker Slams Jagan for Disrespecting the AP Assembly

Addressing the house, Ayyanna Patrudu strongly condemned Jagan’s actions from the previous session. He remarked:

“We invited an honorable person, the governor, to deliver the opening speech in the Assembly. But Jagan instructed his MLAs to humiliate the governor, disrupt the proceedings with slogans and placards, and eventually stage a walkout. This is completely unacceptable and disrespectful to the dignity of the house.”

He further emphasized that Jagan, being a former Chief Minister and the leader of a major opposition party, should exhibit better civic responsibility and democratic values.

“The way Jagan and his party members behaved yesterday shows that they have no respect for parliamentary decorum. As an opposition leader, it is his responsibility to present his views inside the house, not stage a walkout every time discussions begin.”

Jagan’s Absence Sparks Speculation

Adding to the controversy, Jagan skipped today’s crucial budget session, further fueling criticism of his lack of accountability. Instead of being present in the Assembly to discuss key state policies, he left for Pulivendula, where he is expected to stay for the next few days.

This strategic absence has led to speculation that Jagan is deliberately avoiding Assembly debates, preferring instead to mobilize his party workers outside the house. Political analysts believe that his reluctance to engage in discussions indicates a lack of confidence in countering the ruling government’s policies.

TDP’s Strong Stance Against YSRCP’s Tactics

The ruling TDP alliance, along with BJP and Janasena, has strongly criticized YSRCP’s approach of staging walkouts instead of debating policies. Several ministers and MLAs have pointed out that Jagan’s habit of skipping sessions is nothing new and that it reflects his disinterest in legislative responsibilities.

One TDP leader commented:

“Jagan Mohan Reddy has set a record in skipping Assembly sessions. He used to avoid attending when he was the Chief Minister, and now, as the opposition leader, he is continuing the same trend. This shows how little he values the democratic process.”

What’s Next? Will Jagan Change His Strategy?

With the budget discussions ongoing, the absence of the opposition leader has raised concerns about the effectiveness of the YSRCP in the Assembly. While the ruling TDP-Janasena-BJP alliance is pushing ahead with key economic and welfare policies, Jagan’s repeated boycotts and political maneuvering could cost him credibility among voters.

The big question now is: Will Jagan step up and engage in meaningful discussions, or will he continue avoiding the Assembly? With public perception becoming increasingly important, his next move could have a significant impact on YSRCP’s political standing in Andhra Pradesh.
