Andhra Pradesh Roads: Then vs. Now – Complete Transformation
AP Roads Under Jagan’s Administration
The lack of infrastructure Transformation during Jagan’s tenure led to significant public dissatisfaction. Over five years, the conditions worsened. By the 2024 general elections, voters had made their frustrations clear. The YSRCP won only 11 Assembly seats, a significant drop that highlighted how critical the road issue had become for the public.
Under YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s rule, the roads in Andhra Pradesh were in poor shape. Citizens complained about the deteriorating conditions, but the government largely ignored the issue. The roads became unsafe and problematic, affecting daily life for residents. Despite widespread criticism, including from celebrities traveling to the state, Jagan’s administration defended their stance.
Current Road Transformation Under TDP and NDA
After the TDP-NDA alliance took power, there was a sharp shift in focus toward infrastructure improvements. Recognizing the importance of road conditions, the NDA-led government at the center allocated significant funds to improve Andhra Pradesh’s roads.
The central government sanctioned Rs 400 crore under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) to revamp 13 key roads across the state. Spanning over 200.06 kilometers, these roads are now being upgraded to ensure smoother travel for residents. The TDP-led government has made these upgrades a priority.
Major Infrastructure Projects
The central government also approved Rs 98 crore for the construction of a 4-lane Road Over Bridge (ROB) at Sankar Vilas on the Guntur-Nallapadu railway section. This project will help reduce traffic congestion in the Guntur district and improve connectivity. The bridge is part of the CRIF Setu Bandhan scheme, specifically aimed at enhancing infrastructure in the state.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s Announcement of Transformation
In a recent post on X, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari shared updates on the development of Andhra Pradesh’s roads. He emphasized the central government’s commitment to improving road infrastructure, ensuring better travel experiences, and promoting economic growth in the region.
With continued investment, Andhra Pradesh’s road network is set to see a complete transformation. The changes mark a significant improvement from the neglected state they were in under Jagan’s rule.
A Brighter Future for AP Roads
The revival of Andhra Pradesh’s roads under the TDP-NDA alliance shows a clear focus on infrastructure development. With funds and projects in place, the state’s road network is improving, benefiting both the people and the economy.
