After Hi-Tech City, Chandrababu to Develop Data City in Vizag
Transforming Vizag with Data City: Chandrababu Naidu’s Vision
Chandrababu Naidu, known for revolutionizing Hyderabad’s IT sector, is now focused on turning Vizag into a technological powerhouse. He famously built Hi-Tech City, attracting companies like Microsoft and placing Hyderabad on the global IT map. Now, he plans to replicate this success with the creation of Data City in Vizag. Chandrababu plans to transform Vizag into a tech hub with Data City, featuring AI hubs and data centers.
What Is the Plan for Data City?
The proposed Data City will be developed in Madhurawada, spanning 500 acres. It will include cutting-edge data centers and Artificial Intelligence (AI) hubs. This project designed to attract global IT leaders. The government has already started land acquisition for the initiative.
Some key highlights of the project include:
- Google: Allocated 80 acres for a data center.
- TCS: Allotted 30 acres for its expansion.
Much like Hi-Tech City, this initiative aims to position Vizag as a central hub for technology and innovation.
Lokesh’s Role in the Data City Project
While Chandrababu Naidu is driving the vision, his son, Nara Lokesh, also plays a key role. Lokesh conceptualized the Data City idea and actively promotes it on a global scale. During his recent visit to Davos, Lokesh held discussions with Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar to encourage investments.
Additionally, Lokesh and Naidu invited Microsoft CEO Bill Gates to explore opportunities in the project. Their efforts reflect a strong push to secure partnerships with leading tech giants.
Aiming for a Tech-Focused Future
The government’s proactive steps highlight its commitment to fostering innovation and creating job opportunities. With Data City and Amaravati developed as world-class destinations, Andhra Pradesh positioning itself as a global hub for technology.
This initiative, inspired by the success of Hi-Tech City, expected to drive Vizag’s growth and attract major IT players to the region.
