However, the trailer launch event yesterday took an unfortunate turn when the director made objectionable comments about the film’s heroine, Anshu. During the trailer launch event for Mazaka, Trinath Rao compared Anshu’s current appearance to her role in the film Manmadhudu. He referred to her as “thin” and suggested that it must be difficult for her to manage her current body size. In an attempt to make amends, Trinath Rao shared an apology video, expressing his regret for his words. In the video, he said, “Greetings to everyone, especially women, Anshu garu, and all those hurt by my words. I sincerely apologize. My intention was never to hurt anyone, and I request your forgiveness for the mistake I made knowingly or unknowingly.”
Industry Reaction
Following the incident, Sundeep Kishan, the lead actor in Mazaka, took to social media to support Anshu and Trinath Rao. He acknowledged the unfortunate slip of the tongue and emphasized the importance of being cautious in such situations. Sundeep posted, “Yesterday was an unfortunate slip of the tongue by Dir #NakkinaTrinadhRao. It’s a wrong example to set & we should have been cautious to avoid it. Trinadh garu & Team #Mazaka apologise for the poor choice of words to Anshu garu & to all women out there. We are because of you.”
